Although he proclaimed himself to be the “greatest flag football linebacker to have ever roamed Loyola Field”, we know Mike was a humble guy who continues to look down with pride and amazement on us coming together once again to remember him.
He wouldn’t want the fuss!
It is fair to say we all feel a void in our lives since Mike was taken away so suddenly and tragically on 9-11-01 along with so many other friends, family members and colleagues.
Most of us know some or all of the way-too-short 34 year history of Mike, from the shores of Rockaway Beach, to Xavier to Fairfield, to Cantor and to Coppersmith’s.
For those that don’t, his life revolved around his love for his family, his loyalty to his friends and his fondness for sports, especially the Yankees, Notre Dame football and Indiana basketball…
Mike had an uncanny ability to always have a good time no matter the situation. Simply put, he was a guy everyone always wanted to have around and we still do today…
There is no try. Only do.
